🪔🔔Vedic Dharmic Approach to the Corona Virus🔔🪔
🙏🏼 Namaste 🙏🏼
No doubt the corona virus epidemic will lead to a global recession of great magnitude and yet we must remind ourselves that nothing is permanent and this time too shall pass. What my prayer is that the severity of this situation will draw humanity to re-think and re-set its value system in a more dharmic way. There are deeper lessons to be learnt in the spiritual and social context with a profound understanding of cultural, ecological, political, environmental and social systems.

The world is adopting the beautiful Vedic system of greeting with Namaste 🙏🏼
Namaste is the deepening attitude of gratitude towards oneself and the other. In India when greeting someone, we graciously fold our hands to form the sacred gesture “Namaste” as an auspicious awakening in ourselves and the other person.
Our deepest expressions of gratitude are a reminder of the divine grace in our own lives, creating an awareness of graciousness around us.

Our social and mass media corruption has driven us to being a consumer based culture where the code for happiness is ‘More’. In Vedic thought inner happiness and peace stirs from within us bringing people together to form a harmonious family system “Vasudaiva Kutumbakam”.

To counter the shadow side of technology it is the Stri Shakti or women who sustain and nurture the community, understanding that the whole world is one family. Women must return to the fold of being nurturing and receptive which lays the foundation of social and spiritual transformation. Cultivating a receptivity that is fearless and beyond barriers and borders, as women hold the power and grace to draw the world together in harmony and peace.

The Dharmic approach to life is synchronizing our lives, prana, thoughts and actions with the rhythms of the cosmic universe. It is not about individualistic existence of the “I:Me:Mine”, where each individual is striving for their Ego Self of power, material wealth, political aspirations, manipulative striving, sexual pursuits, fame and self-recognition. All aspects of this maya existence has led to mass depression, anxiety, anger, hate, fear and heightened intolerance.

How we accept the virus truly mirrors its people and countries identity where politicians, mass media, and people reflect fear and insecurity. Political parties strive to form a divide amongst themselves instead of coming together to take responsibility for its social system. Bickering amongst power brokers, public forums and politicians draw our attention from the reality of situation the corona virus has created.

🌏🙏🏼India’s Vedic Approach To the Corona Virus🙏🏼🌏
Arriving in the USA from India one realized the strength and conviction of its people. India’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi immediately mobilized restrictive measures at all public places. Airports had thorough screening measures by health officials. Schools and public places were closed to protect children and families. Public places carried abundance of sanitizing equipment and instruction. PM Modi sent planes with testing facilities for the corona virus to Iran to bring back his countrymen safely.
There was no mass hysteria and panic. Grocery shelves were not being emptied out within a few hours and people carrying home loads of toilet and tissue paper creating mass hysteria as was experienced in the west.
There are so many deeper spiritual lessons to be embraced from the Vedic heritage of the ancient Rishi culture.

🌞🌾Yoga  and Ayurveda: A Way of Life🌾🌞
Ayurveda and Yogic remedies and suggestions were circulated through its people in India. Grandmothers and Mothers shared their ancient traditional ways of strengthening the immune system of the family. Ayurvedic remedies of Tulsi, ginger, turmeric, Giloy, black pepper, chyawanprash, Guduchi Arishtam, Moringa, honey, nasya oils made with sesame seed oil and turmeric amongst some of the simple ways to build immunity.

☀️🔥Vedic Ritual Remedies🔥☀️
Light a Diya 🪔 with mustard oil, sesame oil, ghee, pinch of camphor.

In every Hindu home a diya or ghee lamp is lit daily to create a sacred space. Lighting the diya at dawn and dusk is auspicious and protective and in many instances nurturing the diya through the day and night continuously (Akhanda Deepam) is used on sacred ceremonies and rituals.
Light symbolizes sattva Guna or purity, knowledge and wisdom, which draws us out of the the whirlpools of darkness and ignorance.

The oil in the lamp symbolizes our ‘Vāsanā  वासना ‘or latent tendencies and energies. Vāsanā  is an innate karmic imprint or behavioral tendency which influences our conscious mind impacting the present behaviour of an individual. The only way to harmonize is to harness the lower energies or  Vāsanā  by spiritualizing our life and bringing in some discipline, where these latent tendencies gradually exhaust themselves through tapas or spiritual practices.

🦢🐚Mantra Yoga Connects Us to the Cosmic Vibrations🐚🦢
Through my personal spiritual experiences, a simple pranayama (the Vedic harmonising breathing) practice draws attention to our deeper mediative Self where the mantra or sacred word manifests. Mantra practices helps cultivate a sacred positive thought which reflects at a deepest vibrational level altering our negative perspective of life. Mantra is a cosmic sound and vibration of the Divine, Chit-Shakti or the power of consciousness. It is rooted in mantra and Vak Shakti, the power of the Divine Word.
One must be guided into a mantra by a person who understands its shakti power and deeper resonance.

🌙💫Jyotisha The Vedic Astrology💫🌙
Jyotisha or Vedic Astrology helps us understand our Karma and the impact it has on our lives under the influence of changing planetary transits. Guidance through Vedic Astrology aims at giving us a greater understanding of ourselves through a deeper appreciation of our destiny. The Vedic Reading by an astrologer who deeply understands the Shakti of the Planets and Stars in its spiritual and healing perspective throws a lot of Light on our spiritual awakenings, specially through the Dasha or planetary period and Annual or Varshapal chart.
Interestingly a decade ago Dr. David Frawley on the behest of Sri Guru Sivanandamurtiji wrote of this time of troubles starting 2020. On editing we actually removed his mention of virus attacks as we thought it was too negative a perspective.

🙏🏼⌛️Pratyahar or Turning Within⌛️🙏🏼
We should move into a silent mode of pratyahar, internalizing our life’s purpose and spiritual aspirations.
When we move into silent repose the anguish, anger, resentment and differences of approach to life, all subside into a gentle fervor for love, compassion, truth and reality. When we settle in our personal sacred space we will learn to respect everyone else’s sacred space.

Social seclusion and distancing caused by the Corona virus is a time when we are compelled to isolate ourselves for health reasons. Yet this can be channelized as a great opportunity for Humanity to move into deep contemplation and reflection. Being cut off by manufacturing consumer goods  we realize that we do not really require all the products of this maya web.

When did we last spend some quality time with Ourselves??
Am sure with all the mass production facilities shut down in China it will surely clear the atmosphere and bring awareness to our environmental issues.
With this immense economic disruption, the virus will “re-set” a new value code system, where we will be compelled to return to our ancient way of life of peace, harmony and fulfillment.
🙏🏼🌹Jai Maa Guru🌹🙏🏼
