Linkage of Desire to actualization
तदेव लग्नं सुदिनं तदेव, ताराबलं चन्द्रबलं तदेव।
विद्याबलं देवबलं तदेव, लक्ष्मीपते तेऽङ्घ्रियुगं स्मरामि॥
II Tadeva lagnam, sudinam Tadeva
Thara balam, Chandra balam Tadeva
Vidya balam, daiva balam Tadeva
Lakshmipathengri yugam smaraami II
Meaning: That is the best lagna, the auspicious day; it has the strength of stars and the strength of the Moon. It has knowledge and blessings of Gods when your mind is at the feet of Lakshmipathi.

Why Moon?
Moon is that desire what actualizes the Lagna
Desire Perfect Intention
We cannot ignore Manas, we need to work on purify the manas.
Chandra Balam
Chandra Nir Dosha (blemishless)
Lagan Chandra Nir Dosha
Chandra Balam
- Count from your Janma Rashi to the Rashi in which the Moon is posited on the day of event.
- If the count is 1, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11 then you are said to have Chandrabala.
Chandra Nirdosha
If the count is 2,5,9 Possible (not deal killer but not strong)
If the count is 4**, 8 or 12 away, then there is no Chandra NirDosha (exception is 4)
The exception for 4 is from the Janam rashi of the native
Should the MM or PM be swa, ucca or Fullish
Should natal JP associate with or aspect MM
(JP must be qualified)
For example:
Native Moon is Bharani and Muhurta Moon is Rohini
It is 2 away, so there is no chandra balam
But is is Chandra nirdosha (it is not a deal killer but it is not strong)
Lagna Chandra Nirdosha
Muhurat Moon as counted from native Lagna should not be 6th, 8th or 12 away
Chandra Tarabalam
is the strength provided by stars to your Janma Nakshatra / Birth star. Moon’s daily star / Nakshatra position needs to be favourable for casting any Mahurtha. Daily motion of moon from your Janma Nakshatra decides this strength. As moon transits into different stars it becomes favourable or unfavourable to your birth star. 27 Nakshatras are divided into three sets of 9 Nakshatras. Each part / set is called Paryaya /Navakas./Srini.
To calculate Tarabala one must calculate position of daily Nakshatra from your Janma Nakshatra (both Nakshatra inclusive). Divide that by 9. If the reminder is 2, 4, 6, 8 & 9 (or 0) then it’s good otherwise it’s bad.
If Muhurat Nakshtra is 3, 5, 7 from Native's Janam Nakshtra, it is an obstruction star and increase the intensity of obstruction
Vipat - 3rd away
Pratyak - 5th away
Vadha - 7th away
Here are the three Srini family
1) Janam Srini (Paryaya)2) Karma Srini (Paryaya)
- or Anujanma Paryaya
3) Aadhaana Srini (Prayaya)
- Trijanama Paryaya
- Within each Srini (like family you have different relationship),
- the relationship is very intense in first Srini(especially -ve)
- When it is in a second Srini, it is not that powerful especially when -veWhen is is in a third Srini, it is further weakend (it is in different town and not under your roof)
Vipat (विपत्, “adversity”)
- As a previx, Vi can intesify or reverse the meaning of the root Pat
- Add Vi can intensify or separative (Fly apart/split/divide)
- In the second Srini, it softens but first nakhstra it retains the intensity.
Pratyak
- Adverse, contraray, turning away from Goal
- You avoid all Pratyak
- In the secons Srini, avoid the last 3rd of Nakshatra 4degree 27 minutes
Vadha (Naidhan)
- One who kills, act of striking someone, vanquished, destroyed, acto of aggression, disappeared
- Part to avoid is middle 3rd in the second Srini
- There is a contention in some that Pratyak and Vadha ......for second Srini
The Janam Star
Special Considerations
When the native's moon is in the same start group as Muhurat Moon
It is not auspecious specially in the 1st series
Travelling, marrying, starting a new enterprise etc. should be avoided especially when both partners are elders in the family
Do not eliminate but do Upayas
Upaya for Chandra Tara Balam Issues
Doing Upayas builds the intention
Janama:
Donation of fresh vegetables grown over the ground (string beans, egg plant, leafy vegetables)
Give it to Priest, give them same day (another day ?)
It builds intention
Vipat
Donate Jaggery that is Jupiter related
Pratyak
Donate Salt, that is Moon related
Vadha
Gold and Seasme Seeds that is Sun related
Get Creative
We do not have to confine to prescribed gifts
Vipat
Jaggery => Jupiter
You can do Jupterian type remedy that broadns
In terms of donations, you can feed the Brahmin, feeding Holy People, needy people
Directly feeding to Soup Kitchen
making Kheer and feeding
Pratyak
Salt => Moon
Serve Savoury food
Donate to Ashram
Salty Crackers
Vadha
Sun Upaya
Someone was doing Muhurta for a business deal and it was good except for Vadha, a lot of gold was dponated.
Note: For any Muhurta, ask people to do something. It perfects the Intention.
For example:
Native's Janam Nakshtra is Bharani
Muhurat Nakshtra is Rohini
Rohini is 3 away from Bharani, so it is Vipat
1 (janma tara) it indicates danger to body;
if 2 (sampat tara) wealth and prosperity;
if 3 (vipat tara) dangers, losses and accidents;
if 4 (kshema tara) prosperity;
if 5 (pratyak tara) obstacles;
if 6 (sadhana tara) realisation of ambitions;
if 7 (naidhana tara) dangers;
if 8 (mitra tara) good; and
if 9 (parama mitra) very favourable.
How To Caluculate Tarabalam?
Calculate the number of nakshatrams present between our janma nakshatram and muhurta nakshatram. Divide the number with 9 and get the sesham/ reminder. The sesham / reminder will be the taarabalam for the selected muhurtam.
