Full moon in Chitra Nakshatra – Chaitra Purnima Rituals
On Friday, April 19th at 7:12 am EST there will be a Full Moon in Chitra nakshatra.
Just to remind you. A nakshatra is like a sign, but smaller. There are twenty seven nakshatras in the zodiac, and they are the main source of symbolism in Vedic astrology.
Chitra's shakti is the power to accumulate merit. In other words this is a nakshatra that gives you the inclination to do good. You get good karma when you do good! You'll come back in your next life as a multi millionaire and drive a Ferrari and look like a god and learn to meditate and get enlightened on your seventh birthday! Really!!! No not really! But maybe!
Anyway, full moons produce a welling up and an overflowing of energy. In this case it's good karma energy. Get out there, and help people, and make other people feel good, and don't forget to smile and have a good time while you are doing it.
This full moon is a powerful time to get rid of the sins we have accumulated. According to mythological story associated with this symbol, Lord Chitra Gupta helps Lord Yama by keeping an account of all our good and bad karmas which is known as the “Akashic Records”. It is based on his tracking, we are given a final judgment. So this day is extremely auspicious to seek forgiveness to the divine and get HIS blessings.
With Venus the planet of relationships being exalted in the sign of Pisces, it is an amazing time to mend relationships. If you have hurt people around you, this is an opportunity to seek forgiveness and move on.
