If benefics add sweetness, then malefics add bitterness to the rasa of life

Even when the four cornerstones are aligned, certain issues that the couple will have to resolve may remain outstanding.  Alternatively, it may happen that the couple generate by their interactions an imbalance that they must address. The most omnious placement for the major malefics

• are those in which the malefics and one of four cornerstones become associates, conjoined in the same rashi.
• occupy the 7th bhava from one of the cornerstone making the malefic and cornerstone opposites
• Then comes the special aspect that Mars, saturn and Rahu throw (5th and 9th aspect)
• we will only consider Rahu's aspect, not Ketu's as only the head of the serpent can see
• A malefics influnce is strongly intensified when it conjoins or aspect within an orb of 71/2 degrees.

We search particularly for the grahs that mutually influence the same cornerstone in both the charts.

• For example when a couple's Suns oppose each other to create a 7/7 relationship and the saturn of one chart occupies the same Rashi as the Sun in that chart, that saturn will clearly influence the other sun as well. When a malefic's influnce acts solely from one chart to another, the unilateral dynamic is not likely to be too bad.
• When the malefics affect the same cornerstone across from both charts, however the situation becomes exponentially worse
• When Saturn interfere with a pair of cornerstones, one or both the partners may perceive the other as being suffocatingly constructive, distant, incommunicative, secrect, manipulating or acting in some other saturian manner
• Those perceptions will focus primarily on the matters rules by the affected cornerstones
• Ordinaliy it will be the person on whose horoscope the influencing malefic sits, who will be perceived by his partner as behaving unproductively or harmful.
• If the malefic contact is mutual one, the corresponding problematic theme will transfer on both direction.

Exception to the Influnce of Malefics on the four cornerstones:

Two condiitons under which Mars and saturn will not disturb the foundation of building relationship

• When one of them rules the ascendant
• Lord of the first bhava by definition is always a good graha
• its influnce on the four cornerstones supersede its influnce as a natual malefic
• When the grah is a yoga karaka of the horoscope
• When Mars or saturn acts as a Yoga karaka the contribution of these two grahas to the relationship will provide more benefit then damage with just a few overtone of their natually malefic persona

Jupiter - the Great Benefic

Indian tradiiton calls Jupiter the mantri (councelor) and the devaguru (teacher of gods), is unparalled in giving his advice, and be impartial in his judgement.

Jupiter desires to benefit all, regardless of what they desire for him

Jupiter's wisdom, inspiration and intution lay a soothing balm upon the rash of problems that so readily besiege relationships.

Jupiter is called benefic because through his influcnce, a nourishing rasa can be extracted from an otherwise forlorn bhava. Jupiter gives good councel whereever he gazes.

• When raga is week, Jupiter enhances it
• When dvesha threatns, he tries to avert it

Consequently, when the respective Jupiters of two horoscope influennce the four cornerstones (Asc, Venus, Sun, Moon), and if for marriage (also the 7th bhava and its lord), the two people involved will (all other things being equal) be inclined to influence each other favorably during their liason.

They  will share common constructive values, offer one another good advice, treat each other with respect, learn from each other, and othersise enable the mariage - provided offcourse, the Jupiter is strong and rules good bhava.

Given the guru is also the indicator of guru kripa (divine grace), contact of strong Jupiter with all the primary factors may very well indicate the marriage made in heaven. Such powerful contact become particularly strong when Jupiter conjoins or aspect within the orb of 71/2 degree.

One reason that the connections between strong malefics and aligned cornerstones (Asc, sun, venus, moon) may well indicate marriage that works well but appears to be made in hell. The reason being that malefics tends to be a poor negotiators.

• For two horoscope, Aries rising and Libra rising; Jupiter placed in 7th and 5th house of respective charts will influence the ascendant of each other. Both natives will encourge to provide one another good councel and positive attitude in matters relating to their physical existence.

One way contact of Jupiter on asc

• In contast, for two horoscope, Taurus and scorpio rising, where one JP influnce the ascendant of other while other's jupiter does not inluence the asc, one implication of one way contact is that the Ta rising person will be motivated to intensify the enjoyment of the scorpio rising partner through the physical and environmental circumstances of their reltionship (which the asc represent)

Venus
