Jan 5 to 12

The week of Jan 5-12th is one of the more complicated weeks of the year in the stars and we can tell with the drone attack on the Iranian general that the world will seem a bit more chaotic over the coming weeks.

We have been talking about the Saturn/Pluto conjunction which peaks into Jan. 12th but we also have Jupiter exactly conjunct Ketu on Jan. 6th in the mean node system and the Lunar Eclipse at 26 Gemini on Jan. 10th and Mars exactly making a full 8th house aspect  (210 degrees) to the North Node Rahu in the mean node system into Jan. 14th and Saturn and the Sun and Mercury are conjunct on Jan. 12th.

Any one of these events might seem major for a week but all of them put together can increase anxiety, tension and violence.   Jupiter is the despositor and fairly strong and protecting the world and most of you but you have to be aware of your anxieties and thoughts and manage them.

The transit creates great energy to want to act but there is also a  Saturn aspect to Rahu which is in Sagittarius still until Jan. 24th  and it  blocks it across the way creating frustration.  It can easily lead to  to losing one’s temper easily. The key with this transit is take the energy for creative purposes and channel it to create great inventions or technological advancements but avoid being hasty or over-enthusiastic or accidents and overworking could stress the adrenals.

Health-wise, blood pressure can be increased if you do not slow down and Saturn moving toward the Sun also makes this messy  with this energy so be cautious and avoid being reckless or driving like a maniac.  I am seeing this on road now with people passing 3 cars at one time and just making it into the their own lane.   Calm Mars and pita with less spicy food, more coconut water and milk and more meditation. The Warrior Pose will balance Mars and allow it to stay more focused.   Prayers to Hanuman or listening to Hanuman Chalisa are helpful.  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AETFvQonfV8

Saturn’s aspect to Rahu  will promote outward courage but the vata/air element of Rahu may promote inner fear.  The tendency may be to lash out recklessly so be cautious.  If you have Saturn/Rahu energy aspects  in your natal chart, it may promote good achievement with career, athleticism and adventure but avoid recklessness and watch rash tempers that might lead to violence. This energy will be felt strongly on Tuesdays and to a lesser degree on Wednesdays and Saturday (connected to Rahu) and whenever the moon is connected to the two planets.

On a mundane level, this aspect may lead to more political craziness than usual as Mars is about leadership and power and Rahu may drive politicians out of control to make rash decisions.  Mars in Scorpio has dignity but also great strength to exercise military might and prowess  can promote aggression and war and when it becomes afflicted by Rahu.  Political leaders may be drawn to pull the trigger and start a conflict as we have seen with missiles being fired in Iraq.   The energy should escalate into Jan. 14-15th.    Jupiter the despositor is aspecting Rahu tightly and is always the force that calms Rahu down the most so impulsive and thoughtless action will find some wisdom after Jan. 17th when Jupiter is far enough away from direct affliction from Ketu.   Luckily the balance of power with Russia and China and alliances will prevent something major but there will stupid exercises of will and power and agresssion.

On a spiritual level, Rahu/Mars with the Scorpio influence can foster the courage to move through difficult spiritual challenges as is clear in the chart of Mahatma Gandhi, a great freedom fighter. We have to think that the protesters of France and the rest of the world are going to get stirred up by this aspect and get a bit wilder and tensions in Hong Kong and South America will get stirred.  On a mundane level we will always have to worry about  how much turmoil and protest gets stirred up in the world and lets hope that radical  protesting goes peaceful.  This aspect also suggests we have to pray and meditate for the world as terrorist energies will get stirred up a bit.

On a personal level, slow down, rest more.  The adrenals will be firing and if you run around too much you will feel exhausted. Still the energy will be there to accomplish a lot and move through huge boulders and projects so it will at least get you unstuck. Saturn across the way will slow things down and create frustration so watch for huge troughs and valleys on your person energy chart over the next month and be sure to balance your energy.

JUPITER/KETU:  EXACT IN MEAN NODE  JAN. 6TH:  (Orb of influence Jan. 1-21st)

On a mundane level, the conjunction can bring unforeseen expenditures and depletion of financial resources and it may promote day-dreaming and poor handling of finances.  It may be good not to borrow money during this transit as it will create longer-term problems.

Jupiter governs the liver and the Ketu conjunction could bring up some unforeseen health issues around the liver so take extra care of the liver at this time by taking milk thistle, drinking raw celery juice in the morning and hot water with a squeeze of lemon in the morning.

Women may attract more difficult partners who are working on addictive patterns; or  you may attract eccentric partners who are into an alternative spiritual path; or,   you may have challenges with your children during this time and feel a loss or separation if they go away to school and you may feel guilty that you have not done enough for them. They have their own life. Let this go. It is the maya of the mind and guilt is a useless thought that keeps us stuck in the past.
LUNAR ECLIPSE JAN. 10TH:  26 GEMINI:
The  next Lunar Eclipse is hitting Jan. 10th, 2020  at 7:21 pm GMT and 11:21 am PST at about 26 Degrees Gemini and is a bit more ominous with Saturn opposing it and Mercury conjunct the Sun.  Lunar eclipses are much more emotionally impacting and this one opposed to Saturn and Mercury will be even more disturbing for the mind.   If you have key planets at 23-29 Gemini or 23-29 Sagittarius and are in a Sun/Rahu or Rahu/Sun period or Moon/Rahu or Rahu/Moon period, the next eclipse may be more of a direct hit.  Remember you have to be in the above dashas and have key points of your chart hit like your natal Sun, Moon or Ascendant to really have a major event otherwise the eclipses just produce a lot of fear that is illusion.  Remember 99% of the negative and crazy thoughts that come up are nonsense and we should not act on them
SATURN CONJUNCT PLUTO: EXACT JAN. 10TH–ORB OF INFLUENCE UNTIL FEB. 4TH
Saturn is afflicted badly bringing out its darker energies of gloom, pessimism, depression, anxiety so you have to stay on top of spiritual practice and remind Saturn that it can go .  We do not have to buy into our thoughts and emotions.
In personal astrology this cycle forces one to make difficult changes in your life that have outlived their usefulness. Depending on what house is impacted in your chart by Sagittarius this may be connected to work (10th house) for Pisces rising , relationship for Gemini Rising (7th house) or home  for Virgo rising (4th house) or many other varieties.  The energy for this has been building up for the last few years with Saturn in Sagittarius and will climax for wanting to make big changes in your life.  With the confusion of the eclipse energy until Jan. 15th, wait at least until then before making major decisions.
It is said that if you have your natal Saturn in Sagittarius and Pluto is going over it in the 27-29 degree area, it would denote a stressful period in your life where inevitable transformations need to happen and this will happen only after considerable difficulty.  One is usually caught between a rock and hard place in needing to give something up that is particularly difficult to give up like a non-useful relationship or a job that is killing you. There may be a tendency to persist to make things work but inevitably the pressure mounts and you have to make the changes and you cannot avoid the inevitable.
On a psychological level, there is great power to complete psychological transformation and have a breakthrough. But the process is tiring and slow and some old structure represented by Saturn has to breakdown.  Its possible that things get taken away from you like a home, or a bank account but ultimately this transit is reinforcing a new need to change your lifestyle and live within your means and not be dependent on others.
SUN CONJUNCT SATURN: JAN. 12TH
Saturn is afflicted because of combustion and being to close to the Sun and is combust and hidden behind the Sun until Jan. 30th.  Be aware that these underlying feelings of dread about financial implosions are just a wake-up call to get you to look at your budget, income and savings plans so that you have a strong infrastructure behind you to support your spiritual growth. And yes the world is going through the same thing as Central Bankers have created huge debts for the world, inflated the stock market and not created real economic development and throw smoke and mirrors statistics at us to make us think that everything is great.
Saturn governs the base chakra and often spiritual folks work more on their upper chakras through meditation but if their root chakra is not developed and Saturn is weak in their chart, their financial planning and infrastructure and connection to the earth is a bit out of balance.  This can create a lot of instability and fear. Its like a pyramid. If the base of the pyramid is strongly  supported, the energies can move higher to the peak.  If we have a solid bank account and savings plans then we have the freedom to pursue our spiritual development and not be thrown off balance.  If the pyramid is inverted and there is low energy at the base and all the energy is very strong at the top, then there is no stability to support all the spiritual growth.  The current transits are challenging our systems.
Capricorn, the main home for Saturn, requires security and safety to move forward.  Capricorn rising in particular, with a 12th house transit from its home, may feel insecure.  We are still dealing with the Sun/Saturn conjunction into Jan. 12th and afflicted Saturn turns up tension  and Ketu is still there  and turns up unconscious fear and dread and requires looking deeply into those fears and realizing that most of the time, that which we fear does not happen. 99% of the time, the things we fear do not manifest and it is the surprises that get us.  Remember that with Saturn in transition, that fear is all in the mind.  Do more meditation and yoga and breath work to transform the energy. The chair pose in yoga, grounds us to the earth chakra as does the Mountain pose so that we feel our feet grasping the earth and this creates more security in our life.  Use the fear as a wake up call to handle your finances, get into your body and take care of your health.  Look up the magicians “fear sleeve” and expose him for the fraud that he is.

Major transits in 2020

January 24th - Saturn enters Capricorn where he will be there for next couple of years. Committing to the hard work that needs to be done, not just what inspires us.

When Saturn is behaving itself, it produces a sense of responsibility, hard work, productivity, patience, organizational ability, good management, commitment, and the ability to bring things into concrete form. In other words, a positive Saturn helps us to get things done and to make things happen. You could say that Saturn is the best planet for actualizing your desires. In fact, it's the only planet that allows us to get what we want. Every other planet gives a variety of desires, but no other planet, except for Saturn, gives us the ability to make those desires materialize. So if you play your cards right, Saturn just might help you to make some first rate progress in your life, during the next three years.

If you put some effort into improving your life in the direction indicated by the transit of Saturn, Saturn will match your effort by giving you extra support and progress in that area. But you have to work at it and be patient. With Saturn, it's no pain, no gain.

Saturn is the teacher who imparts life lessons based on your deeds and metes out rewards and punishments. During its transit in 2020, Saturn would inculcate discipline and personal strength to help you achieve your life purpose through your actions. Whatever you pursue with perseverance and open-mindedness during this transit can bring a major positive shift in your life.

March 22 - May 4th - Mars exalted in Capricorn showing the capacity to fight for long term goals, not just pop-offs. Fighting the good fight.

March 29th - June 29th - Jupiter  is in Capricorn where he is debilitated. A loss of hope may be revealed now. It may be hard to remember our teachings now.

March 29th - May 4th - Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in Capricorn. Saturn and Mars will give strength but we may loose hope.

May 10th - Saturn retrograde until 9/28

May 12th - Jupiter is retrograde until September 12th

June 18th to end of year - Mars is either in Pisces or Aries

June 21 - Solar eclipse in Gemini, in the Nakshtra of Mrigshira

September 19th - Rahu/Ketu will change sign to Ta/scorpio

Saturn

My Understanding of Saturn

I read articles where people say that Saturn is the reason we are born. I wanted to understand how to interpret Saturn's placement in our chart from the  personal evolution point of view.

What I am sharing is based on my personal analysis and understanding and this is not meant to be a scholarly article. Please do give feedback if this resonates with you or if you have different view on what I shared below.

Saturn represents the karma we need to pay back, which is about moving from darkness to light, though enduring pain, grief and having to put  in more effort. It is process of  destruction of personal ego, going beyond our comfort zone, and accessing our higher Self. Saturn is also. about the duties we must honor and our pay back to the society.

Saturn ruled nakshatras are at the heart of Moksha houses (4-8-12), and Saturn rules 10th and 11th houses, and Saturn is debilitated in 1st and Exealted aww in 7th.

Vishnu avatar connected with Saturn is Koorma avatar,
bearing the lord of Meru mountain . Mount Meru is compared to galactic centre, associated with Moola an Ardra nakshatras, in saggitarius and Gemini -  3-9 axis associated with Knowledge and Wisdom.

When I connect all the dots, Saturn is about patiently enduring the pain and grief caused in life  because of the conflict going on all the time  between Asuras and Devas  within us.

Saturn reminds us of our  duty of bearing the weight of the mountain as long as the churning is happening, to be rewarded  finally with knowing Self through higher wisdom.

Nakshatras owned by Saturn, the respective houses  where these nakshatras are located, can represent areas where are required to endure pain and grief through love and care for others (Pushyami-Cancer), devotion to God  and honoring spirit of friendship (Anuradha-Scorpio) and stillness/meditation/contemplation (uttarabhadra - Pisces).

In these houses we are required to approach pain and miseries as our teacher,  using the means I mentioned above, with the ultimate aim being to understand self and our higher purpose in life.  We channel knowledge from these life experiences  to do right duty (10th house) and to help humanity (11th house).

The highest purpose of this entire human experience is  self individuation or self realization, or  complete integration with our shadow or subconscious self  (hence Saturn exalted in 7th house, which represents our Shadow self).

Saturn is born to Chaaya (shadow) to Sun. Sun refused to acknowledge bthat he is his son until lord Shiva appears to confirm this fact. This suggests that Saturn represents our personal unconscious, part of our self that we refused to accept, and it is through painful Experiences, journey through dark night of the soul, that we break out from this old shell (limiting beliefs  about self leading to fears and phobias) , to embrace the unconscious aspects of ourselves.

There are lot of videos and articles on internet that can help us to understand the concept of Shadow Work which I believe greatly can help us in living life with more emotional freedom.

Whereever Saturn is placed in our chart, that area represents the personal unconscious/dark side that we need to integrate into self based on feedback we get from life experiences.

Saturn owned houses represents the area where we need to clear our obligation, perform our Dharma  (Capricorn)  and the knowledge we contribute back to society (Aquarius). HOW we do this can be seen from our actual 10th and 11th houses.

The house in which Saturn is placed show the area where we will face challenges and restrictions, limiting possibilities to live life certain way, where we need to direct our efforts and that is the area where we manifest our highest Self eventually. This is an area where we correct our inner imbalances ie learn to balance things in our inner and outer worlds  perfectly and hence get recognized by outer-world  for PERSONAL TRANFORMATION we have gone through. The sign and house involved, planets aspecting give us details . Given that Saturn is associated with personal tranformation it is  associated with our 8th. Well placed  Saturn can give us required strength to go through tranformations successfully.

Saturn aspects 3rd, 7th and 10th houses from itself. 3rd house shows the area where we need to get rid of our IGNORANCE about self (develop correct understanding of self) and 7th from itself is where we need to be HUMBLE, serving and let go of our personal ego, 10th from itself is the place where we have to put in EXTRA EFFORT for getting results.
