Shiv Yajur Mantra
~~~~~~~~~~~~
This mantra is my favourite of all times and takes me into spiritual ecstasy every time with the rhythmic beats of Shiva’s Hand Drum ‘Damaru’.
It is very popular invocation in Shiva Temples, especially recited during Aarti (Puja) time.
This mantra is often recited during Pradosha time and is popularly known as 'Kapura Gauravam Karunavtaaram' Mantra from Taittiriya Shakha of Krishna Yajur Veda.
Translation
~~~~~~~~~~~
Karpūragauraṁ – One who is as pure and white as camphor.
Karuṇāvatāraṁ – He is a personification of grace (compassion & benevolence).
Sansārsāram – The one who is the essence of the world.
Bhujagendrahāram – The one with the serpent king (Vasuki) as his garland.
Sadāvasantaṁ Hṛdayāravinde – Lord Shiva always (Sada) resides (Vasantham) in the hearts of beings which are not affected by worldly matters.
Bhavaṁ – To the Lord
Bhavānīsahitaṁ Namāmi – I bow to him who is accompanied by Goddess Bhavani (Goddess Parvati, Shiva’s consort).
